Itinerary
About 200 meters before the petrol station located at the western exit of Susten, south of the main road there is a parking lot. The route begins at this location. Take south by the road which rises for a hundred meters until a fork with the indication Bouthanbrücke. Follow this route and the indications to the bridge. Watch out for the elevation point 800 meters, there is a fork with incorrect directions. Take a full uphill climb to reach the bridge. For the descent, after crossing the bridge, the route follows the bed of the Illbach, first by a road and then a path to Susten.
Practical information
Very easy hike along the bed of the Illbach, a valley in formation which can be extremely dangerous in the event of rain by releasing huge volumes of torrential lavas. This torrential lava can even arise in dry weather, so do not venture into the riverbed.
