Once in Moosalp, follow north direction Breitmatte and Breitmattusee on a very easy path for about 2 km until the Breitmattusee junction. Follow this last direction uphill to reach a pretty little mountain lake. Go down towards Breitmatte and continue north west towards Bürchner Alp, Chalte Brunne and Moosalp to reach the starting point.

Practical information

On weekends and in the summer season this destination is very popular. We even have difficulty parking when arriving at the end of the morning. Magnificent panoramas on the Mischabels (Balfrin), the Weisshorn, the Little Matterhorn, the Breithorn and on the Bernese Alps (Bietschorn and Torrenthorn). Breitmatte is the ideal place to organize a picnic. There is equipment for grilling and wood available. When the crowds are busy there is a wait to grill your sausage! The Moosalp restaurant (14 Gault et Millau!) Is a must-see, but reservations are required a few days in advance to be sure you get a table.
