To reach Prarion, from the departure point of the Nendaz Station gondola, follow the Route de la Péroua with the car until the hairpin bend and the junction rte de Pracondu and route des Crêtaux. Follow the Route des Crêtaux downhill until the first fork in the road upstream. Take this unpaved road (direction Prarion, chalet des Alpes). Always follow the direction of chalet des Alpes, Prarion. Park the vehicle a little higher than the Chalet des Alpes restaurant.
The route starts at the car park in the direction of the Balavaud hut via Le Grenier. From the hut follow La Croix de Jean-Pierre and then Lac de Tracouet. Go around the lake by following the northern foothills of the Dent de Nendaz and descend towards the chottes (stables) of Balavaud. From this point join the start by the ascent route.

Magnificent hike that crosses larch forests and pastures. Many places to organize a picnic. Sumptuous panorama of the Bernese Alps. the Grand and Petit Muveran, the Dent de Favre, the Tour St. Martin, the Becca d´Audon, etc.
