Itinerary

The route starts in front of the “Parc de Finges” post office stop. After a short zigzag climb and a slight descent, turn left following the Zurich Assurance route. After having gone around the hill, continue straight ahead and follow the signs for “Bois de Finges”. At the “Rosensee, turn left to go around the ponds (if you cross immediately after this pond, the junction for the Errmitage you are in the wrong direction and it will be difficult to follow the loop). After circling the ponds on the left, 100 meters after the L’Ermitage junction, take a not very marked forest path to the left of the main path. This trail follows and crosses a part of fairly dense forest. It joins an apiary and a forest road. Follow the forest road and then a motorable road heading south until you reach the cantonal road which crosses the wood of Finges. Follow the cantonal road for 20 meters and take a forest road (closed by a barrier) which goes down into the wood of Finges. After a few dozen meters, the route joins up with an aquatic facility and follows a bisse through the forest. Follow this bisse for about 1 km. When the bisse joins the forest road followed on the outward journey, follow this road towards the southwest. When the route joins the motorable road, continue in the same direction for 300 meters and take a forest path on the right towards Sierre. This forest path joins the Zurich insurance route. Follow in the direction of Sierre. To get back to the starting point, follow “chemin des Collines”.

Route that crosses the magnificent forest of Finges. Classified in the Swiss national park. During the weekends, it is a very busy place. In the pond area, there are many signs of the presence of beavers. With a little luck and patience you will be able to see them. Many places to organize a picnic.
