Itinerary
Departure from the Paudex car park above Villard-sur Chamby. Follow the Sainte-Helène road flat in a northeasterly direction for 500 meters until the junction of the La Cergnette road which you have to follow for 350 meters until you reach a wide path uphill heading south . Rather steep climb up to elevation point 1353. Do not take the direction of Montbrion. Continue by road for 200 meters flat to take the direction of the Saudanne meadow (altitude point 1409). Continue to follow this alpine path until “Le Bivouac, altitude 1512). For the rest, follow Plan de Châtel by the downhill road to altitude 1371 and fork in the direction of Lautaret. From Le Lautaret, follow direction Les Pléiades crossing a fairly dense forest on the hillside to altitude 1287 which joins the road to Sainte Helène, follow downhill to reach the starting point.
Practical information
Easy hike with many wonderful views and some nice places to organize a picnic. At the La Neuve mountain pasture, the very friendly manager of the refreshment bar will make you taste excellent homemade Alpine products.
