Itinerary
Take the cable car to Unterbäch from Turtig. At the exit of the arrival station of the cable car follow the main road to the left (East) in the direction of Brandalp, Egga. After 500 meters, in a hairpin bend, leave the main road following a path that crosses a picnic area and uphill children’s games (southbound). Follow towards the 1317 altitude point and enjoy going to admire the panorama (2 minutes, signpost). There is a public bench at the junction. Then continue towards Brandalp, Egga. The climb is fairly steep up to Brandalp. From Brandalp, descend following the signs for Eischoll on a tarmacked road to a hairpin bend (500 metres). Always follow the direction Eischoll. Follow this hilly path for about 2 km crossing forest, small hamlet and pastures. At altitude point 1465, at a farm turn left (west) following the route of the bisse Alte sue for 1.4 km. The route continues following the bisse Alte Eischlersuon. Follow it for about 1 km to a road that joins Eischoll downhill. In Eischoll, join Brumbielstrasse and follow to the second church at the exit of the village above and after the arrival station of the cable car. Continue following the route downhill to the suspension bridge, cross the bridge and reach Unterbäch and the cable car departure station to reach Turtig and the starting point of the hike.
Useful information
Very nice hike not very difficult with many benches and places to organize a picnic. This hike can be done in both directions. The cable car departure stations for Eischoll and Unterbäch are located at the same location. Parking available. In the middle of the suspension bridge there is a widening that allows you to take wonderful souvenir photos with the magnificent Bietschorn pyramid in the background.
